An important place to begin engaging this battle is to pray for Truth to conquer the deception that seeps in and torments souls. The deceiver works to strip us of our humanity and worth. Applying truth in this struggle means asking God to help us know that we are created by God, in His image. We are wonderfully made by God who loves us. This God has provided a way for us and a place to know the love of others. Praying for Truth is asking God to help us show others that we love them deeply. These are difficult truths for many to believe, whether followers of Christ or not. Part of applying the armor of God is asking God to help each one of His followers hold onto and live out these elements, to resist the deceiver who would have us believe we are not useful.
