Immanuel Part 4: Righteousness

One biblical scholar, Alec Motyer, defines “righteous” as those people who are “right with God and therefore committed to putting right all other relationships in life.” In my faith community we call this “cultivating healthy relationships” with God and with each other. As I seek to apply righteousness I ask God to give His followers discernment and wisdom to know how to engage our ministry. Though we constantly face trials and try to serve with wounded hearts, I ask God to allow us to be filled with joy that comes from a right relationship with God. While it would be understandable for us to be somber I pray that we would instead be joyful, full of God’s presence. As followers of Christ interact I pray for respect and honor in our relationships.
